The reality of the situation is thisMy hair looked like disappointment.
After my initial venting of frustrations, I sat down and put my thinking cap on. I wondered as to why my hair came out the way it did when I did everything right. Then it came to me! I did everything to right. My hair is way to happy! For one thing: My hair is shorter then those women I have up there. So in essence I should have known that it would not be as great as them unless I wanted it this short. Secondly: Natural Hair is notorious for one thing. SHRINKAGE. This aspect of natural hair is something very hard for women to deal with and accept. So when my hair is properly moisturized and hydrated and all that good stuff it shows its happiness by shrinking up! Joline, what did you expect? Then I had to remind myself that you never know what to expect with natural hair. You need to pray for the outcome you want sometimes. Especially with Bantu knots, curl former and for me twist outs. Think of hair as life. When you do; imagine Forrest Gump saying: Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you gonna get. We need to work with the result our hair has given us. We gotta be creative after a mess up. I like the quote that my friend grandma told her. Every spoil is a style. |
